Types of Paranormal Phenomena
There are several types of paranormal phenomena; with some we can be of assistance, and with some we can not.
Active Apparitions
The remnant consciousness of a
person who has died.
May interact with the living.
May move objects.
May open and close doors.
May speak or generate other audible
sound.
May generate EM field to create EVP.
May generate infra-red energy.
May generate ultraviolet energy.
May generate EM fields.
Can be quantified
through scientific means.
Residual Apparitions
The "recorded" imprint of a previous
activity.
Can not interact with the living.
May be visible.
Usually generates sounds such
as footsteps or voices.
Can be detected and documented
through scientific means.
Poltergeist Activity
The moving of physical objects;
often in a violent manner.
Often unconsciously caused by a child during
puberty.
Can be documented through video
surveillance, but PSI can not assist further.
Requires treatment by a qualified
and state-licensed psychologist or psychiatrist.
Although poltergeist activity can be the result of a mischievous spirit, it is not the norm.
Demonic Activity or Possession
Possession - The taking of control of a human by spirits which have never been human.
May exhibit
excessive physical strength.
May speak in unknown languages.
Some psychological conditions may be
mistaken for possession.
Tourette's
Syndrome.
Multiple
Personality Disorder.
Extremely rare.
Requires clerical and psychiatric intervention.
Activity - Activity by non-human spirits, usually violent.
Extremely
rare.
Requires clerical intervention.
The Catholic church has had over a thousand years of documented experience, and has confirmed
comparatively few actual cases involving non-human demons.
Scientific investigation can NOT assist with demonic
possession or activity.
